Red Lodge's flood evacuation facility is full

RED LODGE, CALIFORNIA — After hundreds of people were evacuated from their houses on the east side of Rock Creek in Red Lodge on Monday, the Carbon County Fairgrounds served as a temporary home for many of them.

While they have no idea when they will be able to return home, the majority have maintained a good attitude.

"I basically come from a family of tough, tenacious individuals, and we just keep going."

But, like I said, wait till I have to go into my house and assess the damage," said Lee Cooper, a Red Lodge resident.

The evacuation center was set up by the Red Cross. Cooper is appreciative for her community, despite the fact that she is just staying for the day.
